FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Fulton Board of Education at its Wednesday night meeting unanimously approved an agreement to get a school resource officer.

The officer will be provided by the city’s police department. The agreement for the SRO begins on Jan. 6 and runs through the end of the academic school year, of until June 30, whichever occurs first, meeting documents say.

The school district will pay $27,296.11 for the officer over five months, which equates to 65% of the officer’s salary. The agreement says it can be extended.
