Noble Health’s bankruptcy plan in Callaway County OK’d by federal judge

A settlement that was proposed in federal bankruptcy court for Noble Health has been accepted by a judge.

Nobel Health announced the closure of its hospitals in Fulton and Mexico in 2022.  Rural health care has been an issue across Missouri. according to the 2021 Health in Rural Missouri report, there are 55 rural counties in Missouri without a hospital.

The third proposal was accepted by multiple classes listed in proceedings on May 9, according to a May 30 judgement. Classes in this case included Lead Beak, Phil Hagedorn, unsecured creditors and employees seeking damages for lost wages.

According to court documents, after its $572,000 payment to Lead Bank and $500,000 payment to the wage and employee benefit claims, the Callaway County hospital property at 10 Hospital Drive in Fulton will be transferred to Ziva Medical.

Court documents filed on Thursday do not describe the Audrain County hospital that closed.
