Woman arrested in Fulton, authorities search for a possibly armed suspect
FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)
Fulton police officers arrested a woman Wednesday morning after two people are suspected of stealing a car.
According to a news release, 31-year-old Mary Eells was arrested at 8:34 a.m. on suspicion of tampering with a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.
The release said Eells and another suspect allegedly stole a car from the 800 block of Jefferson Street at 5:39 a.m.
Police say officers tried to pull the vehicle over, but it drove away from the scene.
The police department posted on its Facebook page around 6:30 a.m. that the pair ran again from authorities in the area of Ravine Street and Collier Lane.
Police said Eells was later arrested at 8:34 a.m. after officers said a citizen reported seeing her on Tennyson Road near S. Business 54.
Fulton police chief Steve Myers said the other suspect could have a weapon.
"Eells did not have a weapon, the other person may still be armed," Myers said.
The release said Callaway County deputies and state troopers assisted in the search.
Officers said residents are asked to call the police department if you see anything suspicious.
