SEDALIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

No one was injured in a Tuesday fire at a Long John Silver in the 900 block of South Limit Street.

According to an email from Sedalia Fire Department Chief Matthew Irwin, the fire was called in at 11:06 p.m. and crews arrived on the scene within four minutes. Crews saw heavy smoke coming from the roof of the building. The fire was found in the kitchen and the cause is under investigation, according to the email.

The email states that “hidden fire” was found throughout the building and the fire was declared extinguished at 1:46 a.m. Fire crews cleared the scene at 2:38 a.m. and investigators stayed until 3:59 a.m., the email says.

There was significant damage in the kitchen and roof above the kitchen, as well as smoke, heat and water damage throughout the building, the email says.
