Firefighters: North Columbia apartment fire is ‘suspicious’

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Boone County firefighters say a late Tuesday night fire on Demaret Drive is suspicious.

Crews were called to the 700 block of Demaret just after 11 p.m.

Boone County Fire Protection District Assistant Chief Bryant Gladney said the fire was put out quickly.

"There's a common entry wall to all four apartments and the fire was contained to that stairwell," Gladney said.

Gladney included the fire is under investigation and that it caused a minor amount of damage.
