Jefferson City School District hires four new assistant principals

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Jefferson City School District announced in a Friday press release that it has hired several new assistant principals for next school year.

L. Steven Barnes -- current Morgan County R-2 School superintendent -- will be a new assistant principal for Thomas Jefferson Middle School. 

Cory Walk -- current in-school suspension teacher at Thomas Jefferson Middle School -- will be a new assistant principal for Thomas Jefferson Middle School. 

Melissa Vermon, current instructional coach at East Elementary School, will be the new assistant principal for Pioneer Trail Elementary.

April Rustemeyer -- current kindergarten teacher at Moreau Heights Elementary -- will be the new assistant principal for Southwest Early Childhood Center.
