JC Schools kicks off summer school with new COVID-19 guidance

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

JC Schools students are headed back to the classrooms Monday morning for summer school under new COVID-19 guidance.

Masks are still required in school buildings but they're not required outside.

Social distancing is still being enforced inside classrooms.

Students will now be able to leave their primary classrooms for art, music and library instruction. However, students are expected to stay in their groups.

Classroom and equipment will be sanitized between classes.

The district says its re-entry plan was based around guidance from Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE) and Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services (DHSS).

Summer school will run every Monday through Thursday until July 1.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided at no cost.
