Principal named for new Columbia elementary school

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Columbia Public Schools has announced the first principal of Eagle Bluffs Elementary School.
Sarah Sicht will be the school’s inaugural principal, the school district announced in a Friday press release. Sicht has worked at CPS for 25 years as a teacher, assessment coach, mentor and most recently as the principal at Benton STEM Elementary School, the release says.
She has a degree in early childhood from the University of Missouri and an education specialist degree in administration from William Woods University, the release says.
Eagle Bluffs Elementary will open for the fall 2026 semester on Sinclair Road, near John Warner Middle School. Officials have said that the school is expected to hold 750 students. The Board of Education unanimously picked the name of the school last month.
“We’re excited to have Mrs. Sicht as the incoming principal at Columbia Public Schools’ newest elementary school. She brings decades of education and leadership experience to the position and will be an excellentsteward of the development ofschool traditions and a positive school‐community culture at Eagle Bluffs,” interim Superintendent Chris Belcher said in the press release.
