MU provost on the move to Indiana
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The University of Missouri announced in a Monday email that Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Latha Ramchand will be leaving the university.
An email from UM System Presidence Mun Choi states that Ramchand will become the executive vice president and chancellor of Indiana University-Indianapolis. Ramchand will start her new position on Feb. 12. She began working for the University of Missouri in 2018, according to the university’s website.
The email states that Senior Vice Provost Matt Martens will be the interim provost.
Choi’s email states that Ramchand was “instrumental” in establishing the Provost’s Task Force with India, a new MU initiative aiming to improve research collaborations between the United States and India as part of a greater vision by the Association of American Universities.
The email states she established a Faculty Success Council.
According to Ramchand’s biography on the university’s website, she was was appointed as the executive vice chancellor and provost in August 2018. She was previously at the University of Houston, where she served as dean of the C.T. Bauer College of Business.
