Five people dead after being shot in a home in Texas, suspect at large

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Five people are dead after being shot in a home by a gunman using an Ar-15 style gun in Cleveland, Texas.

Officials said the shooting happened Friday night around 11:30 pm when officials from the San Jacinto sheriff's office received a call for harassment in Cleveland Texas. When officials arrived to the home, they discovered several victims had been shot.

Two female victims were found in a bedroom in the home laying on top of two children who survived the shooting. The youngest victim involved in the shooting was eight years old.

Police are searching for the suspect, who they believe is a Hispanic male who is intoxicated and carrying an AR-15 style gun.

At least 10 people were inside of the home during the time of the shooting.

Officials report that the shooter reportedly went to the house after neighbors asked him to quiet down because their baby was sleeping.

This remains an on-going investigation, and those who live in the area are asked to stay inside until the investigation concludes.
