Columbia man charged after Thursday night shooting
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia man was charged with multiple crimes after a Thursday night shooting and driving away from police.
A Boone County prosecutor has charged Scott Locke, 26, with armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon - shooting at/from a car, resisting arrest, driving while revoked/suspended and speeding.
According to court documents, a Columbia police officer attempted to pull over Locke that was driving 52 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone on East Business Loop near Eastland Circle.
Police reportedly heard what sounded like motorcycle back firing and then Locke's vehicle sped off. Police reported seeing a passenger in the vehicle as it sped off.
Columbia police responded to a residence on the 2500 block of Quail Drive on a domestic disturbance involving shots fired and found Locke's vehicle there, according to court documents and a release by police.
The passenger in the vehicle spoke with the police. She said that Locke fired a gun because Locke was angry about a past relationship, according to court documents.
Locke is being held at Boone County Jail without bond. Online court records indicate that Locke does not have a lawyer at this time.
