Bland man charged after Saturday shooting

BLAND, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Gasconade County prosecutor has charged a Bland man after a Saturday morning shooting at the K&M Country Store in Bland.

Ryan Johnson is charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action.

According to court documents, first responders found a victim at the store. Officials report that the victim had a gunshot wound to her left index finger and the side of her forehead. University Hospital collected a bullet fragment from the victim's forehead.

The victim told deputies that she met Johnson between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Valentine Ford Road near Highway A. The victim said she got into an argument with Johnson before he shot her, according to court documents.

After being released by the hospital, the victim took deputies to the crime scene where they found a shell casing and broken glass from the victim's car.

Deputies arrested Johnson and took him to the Osage County Jail.

Johnson has a $50,000 cash or surety bond and his inital court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday.
