Columbia police investigating after shooting damages vehicle Wednesday night

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Police Department said a vehicle was damaged when someone opened fire on Scott Boulevard Wednesday.

According to a news release from CPD, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Scott Boulevard shortly after 7 p.m.

Once they arrived at the scene, police say they found evidence of shots being fired in the area. Officers found a vehicle damaged from the shooting.

CPD officials described the suspect's vehicle as a silver two-door sedan. They did not have any additional information about a possible suspect.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call CPD at (573) 874-7652 or CrimeStoppers at (573) 875-8477 to stay anonymous.

Officials said the investigation is ongoing and more information may become available in the future.
