COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police say two juveniles were shot in south Columbia late Wednesday.

The Columbia Police Department was originally called to the 1800 block of Juniper Drive around 11:15 p.m., after receiving reports of shots fired in the area.

Once officers arrived at the scene, they found two victims, both with gunshot wounds. Police later said in a news release that the victims were juveniles and they were found inside a home. No other injuries were reported, police said.

Police shut down Rock Quarry Road and Juniper Drive while they investigated. Rock Quarry reopened to traffic shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday. Part of Juniper Drive was still blocked off.

A witness at the scene told ABC 17 News crews said he heard multiple gunshots from what he thought were two guns.

Sgt. Kim German with CPD said at the scene that the department had limited suspect information and a vague vehicle description.

German said both victims were in stable condition. She did not have any information regarding the extent of the injuries.
