Camden County man charged after shooting at camper nine times

CAMDENTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man is accused of shooting at someone with a rifle after an incident involving a possible kidnapping in Camdenton.

According to court documents, Camden County Sheriff's deputies responded to a possible kidnapping on Bear Ridge rd.

A person told deputies that Michael Horonzy took his girlfriend and the other man fired at Horonzy to defend the girlfriend according to court documents.

The probable cause statement states that Horonzy then fired into the other man's camper eight to nine times.

During the investigation, deputies found spend shell casing in the driveway.

The girlfriend then called Camden County to tell them where she and Michael were. According to court documents, the girlfriend asked Horonzy to pick her up and that the two men did shoot at each other.

Horonzy told deputies that he acted in self-defense according to court documents.

Horonzy is charged with 1st-degree assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon - subsection 3.
