Columbia police investigating a shooting at Heather Ridge Apartments

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia police are on scene at Heather Ridge Apartments after receiving multiple calls of a shooting.

A resident told an ABC 17 News crew on scene that she heard three shots fired.

Columbia police report one person was shot and taken to Unviersity Hospital.

Officials say they don't know the condition of the victim, but he was alert and talking with medics and officers on the scene.

As of 9 p.m. on Thursday, police said no one is in custody. Police could not provide any information about suspects.
