Columbia Police investigating shooting on Kelsey Drive

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia police are investigating a shooting Thursday night in the 5400 block of Kelsey Drive.

A man at the scene told an ABC 17 News crew that he heard 20 shots fired and that it "sounded like Afghanistan."

CPD Sgt. Ryan Brunstrom told ABC 17 News there were no reported injuries. Officers found shell casings in the area and a home was damaged.

In an update on Friday morning, department spokeswoman Brittany Hilderbrand said no property damage was located at the scene.

Police did not have any information about a suspect.

The ABC 17 News crew at the scene saw a CSI van arrive and police blocking off Kelsey Drive starting at Shamrock.

Officials with CPD said they have responded to the same area for the past several months.

The news crew saw police searching the area with flashlights.
