COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Police Department is investigating after an early-morning shooting Tuesday.

According to police at the scene, emergency crews responded to West Worley Street around 3:30 a.m. Crews found one person with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds near the track at West Middle School.

Police said the victim was a male in his late teens or early twenties.

They did not have any suspect information to provide.

As of 4:30 a.m., police were talking to people who were there when the shots were fired. Detectives were en route to the scene to take over the investigation.
