Man accused of Quail Drive killing now in Boone County Jail
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Jail records say a man accused of a deadly shooting on Quail Drive was booked into the Boone County Jail.
Bobby Dawson, 38, of Columbia faces a count each of first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the May 25 killing of 36-year-old Rod Jamal Jones in the 2700 block of Quail Drive.
According to jail records, Dawson was booked into the jail at 10:46 a.m. on Monday. As of Tuesday morning, he was in jail custody being held without bond.
Police said Dawson was arrested at a home in the Kansas City area last week. Kansas City officers said he was arrested without incident.
Dawson's probable cause statement said he took Jones behind a home and shot him. Columbia police said Jones died on May 27 after being taken off life support.
Police said another man, Robert Junior Johnson, 49, of Columbia also faces a murder charge linked to the shooting. Court documents said he held a crowd at bay with a gun as Dawson shot Jones.
Johnson admitted to police he was at the scene but told ABC 17 News he wasn't involved with Jones' killing.
