Columbia police searching for car after multiple shootings Saturday
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Columbia Police Department is investigating multiple reports of shots fired early Saturday morning.
Officers in the area of Derby Ridge Drive told ABC 17 News that they first responded to the 1400 block of Bodie Drive shortly before 4:00 a.m. Saturday for reports of shots fired. Authorities found evidence of gunshots in a house on Bodie Drive.
While officers were investigating that shooting, police north of the area heard approximately 13 gunshots. Police also received several reports of shots fired on Derby Ridge Drive.
That's when Lisle Lewis, who lives in the area, said he jumped out of bed and checked to see what was going on outside.
“We heard numerous shots, it sounded very loud,” Lewis said.
Authorities found a car and house hit by bullets in the 1400 block of Derby Ridge Drive.
Lewis, who moved to the neighborhood in December said he's concerned.
“There are a lot of kids around here, and this is not the kind of place for that sort of thing so, I am definitely concerned about that,” Lewis said.
It is unclear if the shootings are connected. There were no injuries reported in either incident.
