Audrain County Sheriff’s K-9 helps catch suspect that ran into the woods

AUDRAIN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Mexico man is charged with several crimes after running away from Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers after a traffic stop Wednesday night on Highway 54 near Audrain Road 844.

David Lee Fuget Jr. is charged with driving while revoked, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and front-seat passenger failing to wear a seatbelt.

A trooper stopped a vehicle on Highway 54 when the passenger ran off into a wooded area carrying an unknown object.

An Audrain County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit helped find Fuget in a field. Deputies also found a small briefcase containing meth and marijuana.

Fuget was arrested and taken to the Audrain County Jail where he remains in custody.

Fuget has an initial court appearance scheduled for April 5.
