Federal jury convicts man of drug trafficking at Camdenton hotel

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A federal jury found a Kansas City man guilty of one count of trafficking meth from a Camdenton hotel on Wednesday.

Anthony Martinez Harris, 48, was found guilty on Wednesday of one count of possessing meth with the intent to distribute.

Camdenton police responded to an employee at the Sleep Inn on Highway 54 to remove Harris on Sept. 26, 2019. When police arrived, they found a large amount of cash, multiple guns and drugs in Harris’s room.

During a search of Harris’s vehicle, they found a rifle and more drugs.

The jury took two hours before returning with a guilty verdict.

Harris is subject to a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in federal prison without parole, up to a life sentence in federal prison without parole.
