New York man accused of exploiting Missouri sisters pleads guilty to child porn charge
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A New York man pleaded guilty to a charge of attempting to produce child pornography on Tuesday.
Charles J. Adams, 38, could face at least 15 years in prison, according to a release from the Western District Court of Missouri.
The release said Adams received multiple sexual images and videos of an 8-year-old. It included Adams had also asked for a video of the child's sister getting out of the shower.
Adams contacted the child through an iPod app, the release said.
Prosecutors say the father of the children contacted the Boone County Sheriff's Department about the situation on March 1, 2019.
Investigators say the child initially thought Adams was a girl and that he had not shown his face when the two live chatted.
The release said Adams faces a minimum sentence of 15 years in federal prison without parole and a maximum of 30 years without parole. It did not include his sentencing date.
