Man accused of assaulting officers Sunday night in Osage County

FREEBURG, Mo. (KMIZ)

An Osage County probable cause statement reveals what happened during a burglary call on Sunday night in Osage County.

According to court documents, a deputy from the Osage County Sheriff's Department arrived on scene and found law enforcement attempting to place Gage Wansing to a patrol vehicle. Documents report that Wansing allegedly resisted arrest before being placed into the back of a patrol vehicle.

During the investigation, the burglary victim told officers that Wansing was at the residence when the victim arrived and allegedly demanded Xanax according to court documents.

The victim reportedly went inside and Wansing allegedly broke into the house according to the probable cause statement. The victim then went to the bathroom with a child and Wansing followed them through the house and took the victim's phone according to the court documents.

Wansing is charged with two counts of assault 3rd degree, domestic assault 4 degree, resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of a child 1st degree.

No bond was set for Wansing according to court documents. Wansing has a court arraignment at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
