Jefferson City man indicted on federal gun charge

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Jefferson City man was indicted by a federal grand jury on Tuesday for allegedly having a stolen gun and ammunition.
Latrell Dashon Batts, 27, was charged with one count of being a felon with a gun. He is being held at the Cole County Jail. He was previously charged in Cole County.
Batts was previously convicted of a felony and is not allowed to have a gun, the release and court documents say.
According to previous reporting, Jefferson City police were called to the parking lot of Boulevard Billiards in the 1400 block of Missouri Boulevard around 11 p.m. on March 10. A fight involving multiple people occurred in the parking lot, and police were told guns were seen, according to a press release from police and the probable cause statement in previous reporting.
The probable cause statement says that Batts was in a vehicle when police arrived. Police found a gun in the vehicle. The statement also says Batts was seen with the gun on video.
