Jefferson City man charged with four felonies after being found with gun in parking lot

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Jefferson City man was charged on Tuesday after he was allegedly found with a gun following a fight in a Jefferson City bar’s parking lot.
Latrell Batts, 27, was charged with illegal gun possession, two counts of armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. He is being held at the Cole County Jail without bond. A court date has not been announced.
According to a press release from the Jefferson City Police Department, officers were called to the parking lot of Boulevard Billiards in the 1400 block of Missouri Boulevard around 11 p.m. Monday. A fight involving multiple people occurred in the parking lot, and police were told guns were seen, according to the release and the probable cause statement.
The probable cause statement says that Batts was in a vehicle when police arrived and stepped out of the car. Police found a gun in the vehicle. Batts is a convicted felon and is not allowed to possess guns, the statement says.
Video from the bar allegedly showed Batts having the gun during the altercation, the statement says.
