Jefferson City man charged with first-degree domestic assault

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Jefferson City man was charged in Cole County on Thursday with first-degree domestic assault after he allegedly assaulted a woman on Monday.
Ke’Andre Ruffin, 22, is being held at the Cole County Jail without bond. A court date has not been scheduled.
The probable cause statement says that Jefferson City police were called to an apartment building and the victim and Ruffin were standing outside. The victim had “blood streaming from her nose and mouth,” the statement says.
The victim first allegedly claimed they ran into a wall and Ruffin alleged that he didn’t know what happened, court documents say. The victim was treated at University Hospital in Columbia and had a broken nose, the statement says.
A family member of the victim allegedly told police that the victim was assaulted by Ruffin and gave police a recorded phone conversation on Tuesday where the victim allegedly stated Ruffin abuse her throughout the week and punched her in the face, the statement says.
