Sedalia man charged with 10 felonies following high-speed chase

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Sedalia man was charged in Pettis County after he allegedly led a trooper on a high-speed chase on Wednesday.
Maxwell Payette was charged on Thursday with aggravated fleeing, four counts of armed criminal action, one count of drug possession, unlawful use of a weapon, two counts of illegal gun possession and one count of leaving the scene of an accident. An arraignment was held on Thursday morning at the Pettis County Courthouse.
According to the probable cause statement, Payette was driving a blue Toyota Camry 130 miles per hour south on Highway 65 near Bothwell Park Road around 9:44 a.m. A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper was able to catch up with him and tried to conduct a traffic stop before Payette sped away, the statement says.
Payette allegedly drove through a red light and drove on the shoulder of a road to get by cars before crashing into another vehicle, the statement says. The trooper searched the car and found three guns and a meth pipe with burnt residue, the statement says.
