COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said in a Wednesday press release that it will take over a death investigation from Pike County.

The Patrol wrote that the Pike County Sheriff’s Office received a missing person’s report for Nathanial Mueller, 23, of Hannibal, on Dec. 21, 2024. His remains were found on Feb. 28 in rural Pike County, the release says.

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office requested on March 3 that the MSHP Division of Drug and Crime Control to take over the investigation, the release says.

MSHP asks that anyone with information related to the case to call Troop C headquarters at 636-300-2800.
