COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A second teenager who was accused in an October shooting in Columbia pleaded guilty on Tuesday to two felonies.

Amare Carter, 19, of Columbia, pleaded guilty in Boone County to second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. He was sentenced to five years of supervised probation with a 15-year suspended sentence.

According to court documents from previous reporting, Derek Reynold, 19, of Columbia, Carter and two juveniles were arrested for their alleged roles in a shooting near Godas Drive and Valley Creek Lane. Two vehicles and a residence containing 10 people were hit by bullets. A witness alleged they were with Reynold and Carter when they planned the shooting.

The vehicle the two were in crashed and Reynold allegedly told police that he did not have a gun.

Reynold was sentenced to probation last week after he pleaded guilty to second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
