COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man was charged with a pair of felonies on Tuesday after he allegedly assaulted a woman on Valentine’s Day.

Blake Tekotte, 37, was charged with first-degree kidnapping and third-degree domestic assault. He is being held at the Boone County Jail without bond. A hearing in this case has not been scheduled yet.

According to the probable cause statement, Tekotte allegedly accused the victim of infidelity on Friday. The victim allegedly allowed Tekotte to go through their phone to look at messages. Tekotte did not allow the woman to leave afterwards and threw her to the ground. When police arrived they saw the victim had a cut on their hand and clothes ripped from being thrown to the ground.

The victim had screamed for help during the assault. A neighbor allegedly heard noise coming from outside that concerned him enough to grab a gun, court documents say. The neighbor allegedly saw Tekotte on top of the victim while the victim yelled for Tekotte to get off of her.

The neighbor told police that he racked his gun and told Tekotte to get off the victim, the statement says. Tekotte then left in a vehicle.

Tekotte was also charged last year with first-degree kidnapping and second-degree domestic assault. A hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25. A motion to revoke bond was also filed in the case.
