COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man was charged on Friday with a pair of felonies after authorities say he attacked another person and held them against their will on Nov. 17.

Blake Tekotte, 36, was charged with first-degree domestic assault and second-degree kidnapping.  A warrant was ordered for his arrest on Friday and no bond was set. A court date has not been scheduled.

According to a heavily redacted probable cause statement, Tekotte became angry at the victim and started throwing the victim’s phone and broke items at his residence. Tekotte then allegedly pushed the victim up against a wall and started hitting them, the statement says. Tekotte then took the victim to the ground, strangled and threatened to kill them, court documents say.

Tekotte then allegedly prevented the victim from leaving and took their personal items, the statement says. The victim was eventually able to get out of the building and hid behind a tree across the street as Tekotte got in a vehicle and sped around the area to look for the victim, the statement says.
