Man accused in Boone County shooting pleads guilty to 2 felonies, sentenced to probation

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A man who was accused of shooting another person in December after an argument pleaded guilty to a pair of felonies on Monday.
Anthony Sharp, 52, of Columbia, pleaded guilty to illegal gun possession and unlawful use of a weapon. He was sentenced to five years’ probation with a seven-year suspended sentence. He was previously charged with first-degree domestic assault, unlawful use of a weapon, illegal gun possession and armed criminal action.
According to previous reporting, Sharp allegedly shot the victim on Dec. 22 in the 1700 block of South El Centro Court. Law enforcement found guns at Sharp’s residence, reporting says. Sharp has a prior felony conviction and isn’t allowed to have guns.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office said in December that the victim had non-life-threatening injuries.
Another person was cited -- in the heavily redacted probable cause statement – as saying they heard the argument and a “pop” while on scene, court documents say.
