COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Authorities announced on Wednesday that ATM thefts were reported in two Mid-Missouri cities.
The Cole County Sheriff’s Office said in a release that deputies were called to Farmers Bank on Route C in Lohman at 1:17 a.m. for an ATM alarm. Deputies saw that an ATM was broken into and “an undetermined amount of money had been taken,” the release says.
Video allegedly showed a dark vehicle with three people dressed in dark clothing and their faces covered, the release says. The vehicle was eventually found on Kautsch Road while it was running and unoccupied, the release says.
Police in Osage Beach said that officers were called to Oak Star Bank on Osage Beach Parkway at 2:32 a.m. for an alarm, a release says. Officers showed up and found a Ford pickup truck that was unoccupied with a chain attached to the bumper and an open ATM with “an undisclosed amount of money was taken,” the release says. Police say the truck was also stolen.
A second release related to the Osage Beach incident says that four persons of interest were taken into custody at 3 p.m. in Oklahoma.
