COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man was charged with three felonies after he allegedly pointed a gun at someone’s head and choked them on Wednesday.

Cristian Dariel Rodriguez Doblado, 21, was charged on Thursday with third-degree domestic assault, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. He is being held at the Boone County Jail without bond. An initial court appearance was held on Thursday.

Columbia police responded to a home invasion on Wednesday at a location that was redacted in the probable cause statement. The statement says that Doblado pointed a gun at the victim’s neck and temple while holding them against their will. Doblado also choked the victim during the attack, the statement says.

Police found Doblado in the woods behind the residence and police smelled “a strong odor of intoxicants emitted from his person,” the statement says.
