COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man accused in a deadly Columbia shooting in summer 2023 waived arraignment Tuesday.

Deljuan Turner's arraignment was held Tuesday morning at the Boone County Courthouse. Another suspect, Damarkus Williams, will be arraigned Dec. 2, according to court records.

Turner and Williams had their charges changed from second-degree murder to first-degree murder, leading to new arraignments for each man. Defendants are asked to enter a plea at these hearings.

Turner and Williams are two of seven men who are accused of killing Deshon Houston on Dove Drive in June 2023. Deazes Turner, Alquez Jones, Jajuan Crocket and Ja'Shoun Barney are the other accused shooters that saw their charges upgraded to first-degree murder.

Bryton Allen, who was also charged in the shooting, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in June.
