MILLER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man was arrested on Tuesday following a high-speed chase in Miller County that went more than 180 miles per hour, according to a press release from the Miller County Sheriff’s Office

According to a release sent on Wednesday, deputies were informed by Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers that they were in a chase with a vehicle that hit 180 miles per hour. The chase then went onto Highway 52 toward Tuscumbia.

A 2014 Porche Boxter was still driving fast when deputies encountered it, the release says. Deputies deployed spikes to stop the chase before it went by a Miller County R-3 School that was about to release students, the release says.

The driver – Brennen Christopher England, 37, of St. Louis – avoided the spike strips, but crashed his vehicle, the release says. The release says he was brought to the Miller County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold on suspicion of aggravated fleeing. Charges have yet to appear on Casenet.
