COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man was found guilty on two felonies related to a January 2023 mobile home shooting.

Sean Colton, 23, was found guilty by a Boone County Jury on Wednesday of second-degree assault and armed criminal action. He will be sentenced at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18. He is being held at the Boone County Jail.

He was previously charged with unlawful use of a weapon, two counts of armed-criminal action and first-degree domestic assault.

Colton is accused of shooting a man in the 1800 block of Business Loop 70 West. The victim had two gunshot wounds, previous reporting indicates. A truck also had multiple bullet holes.

Court documents in previous reporting indicate that Colton fired 16-17 shots at the victim following an argument, but claimed he wanted to “scare him off”  and didn’t mean to shoot the victim.
