An Audrain County man was charged on Tuesday with several child sex crimes that allegedly occurred between 2000-08.

Adam Charles Reeves, 37, of Laddonia, was charged with three counts of first-degree child molestation and three counts of first-degree statutory sodomy. He was booked into the Callaway County Jail at 10:36 a.m. Monday and was released at 12:47 p.m., jail records indicate. His bond was $25,000.

According to the probable cause statement, one of the victims reported to the sheriff’s office in September 2023 that Reeves routinely sexually assaulted them over the course of several years, and that the assaults progressed as the victim became older.

A second victim allegedly told law enforcement that they were sexually assaulted by Reeves between 2001-03 while they were a young child, court documents say.

That victim allegedly told law enforcement that Reeves had a conversation with the first victim last year about the assaults, where he allegedly said, “we were kids and that it was mutual, turn me in if you have to, I’ll get out of jail and win,” court documents say. Another witness allegedly heard the conversation, as well, the statement says.

A person described as a witness allegedly told deputies that Reeves told them of a time where Reeves woke up and saw the first victim on top of him and shoved her when he realized they weren’t his girlfriend, court documents say.

Reeves allegedly told law enforcement that “inappropriate” instances occurred with him and the victim when they were youth, and claimed “it was possible” they occurred in 2004 when he was 17 and the victim was four years younger than him, court documents say.

Court documents also say Reeves lied to a family member and denied the allegations when they were previously discussed.
