Morgan County man charged with more than two dozen gun crimes
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Morgan County man pleaded not guilty Thursday to more than two dozen charges of illegal gun possession.
Jason D. Marriott, 45, of Versailles, was jailed this week on 27 counts of being a felon in possession of a gun and two counts of felony drug possession. Each charge represents a separate weapon found at Marriott's home, according to a probable cause statement.
Marriott was jailed on a $250,000 bond and told a judge Thursday that he will need a public defender, according to online court records.
The Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force raided Marriott's home Tuesday and found paraphernalia and methamphetamine along with the guns, the probable cause statement says. Investigators also found a bottle of oxycodone, an opioid pain reliever.
A bond hearing is set for Tuesday.
