Lake Ozark man charged with nine child porn charges
CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Lake Ozark man was charged on Monday with nine counts of promoting child pornography.
Leland James Weeks II, 48, was charged with two counts of first-degree promoting child porn and seven counts of second-degree promoting child porn. He is being held at the Camden County Jail on a $150,000 bond. A case review is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17.
According to the probable cause statement, the Camden County Sheriff’s Office received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that stated child porn files were uploaded to an Amazon account on April 13 in Camdenton. The IP address was registered to a Charter Communications user.
Law enforcement received more information from Amazon on June 26 and eventually interviewed someone on Aug. 2 who claimed to have been exchanging child porn with Weeks, according to the probable cause statement.
Deputies spoke with Weeks the same day, who allegedly admitted to sending and receiving child porn daily for several months, the statement says.
