Columbia teen charged with armed robbery
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
An 18-year-old Columbia man was charged Tuesday with a late-July armed robbery.
Nathaniel Watson was jailed Monday on a $100,000 bond. Prosecutors have charged him with first-degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action and gun theft.
Watson is accused of perpetrating the robbery early July 31 in a location that is redacted in the police probable cause statement. Two victims told officers that Watson was with an acquaintance of theirs. Watson pulled a gun on them and demanded money, according to the probable cause statement.
The statement says Watson's apartment at 5022 Clark Lane is a few hundred feet from where the robbery took place.
Watson took $400 from the victims, who then fled back home to Moberly, the statement says.
Police arrested Watson on Monday and interrogated him. Watson told investigators that he bought the gun used in the robbery from a crack cocaine addict for $100.
No hearings have been scheduled in Watson's case.
