COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man who was charged with child sex crimes in June saw his charges updated after a grand jury indictment on Friday.

Francisco Rutiaga-Santoyo, 49, is now charged with two counts of statutory sodomy of a child younger than 12 years old and one count of first-degree child molestation. He was previously charged with statutory sodomy of a child younger than 14 years old and first-degree child molestation.

He is being held at the Boone County Jail without bond. An arraignment is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12.

His address was listed as Kaiser on the Boone County Jail roster, but it was listed as Columbia on Casenet. The probable cause statement claims Rutiaga-Santoyo was “removed from” the country at the time the document was written in 2023.

The probable cause statement says a child victim told law enforcement that Rutiaga-Santoyo sexually assaulted them over the course of multiple years.
