Police: Woman stabbed in Business Loop 70 Break Time parking lot after two men were fighting
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Police tape was put up around the Break Time on Business Loop 70 and Garth Avenue in Columbia on Thursday following an assault.
A Columbia police officer at the scene said police were called for a reported assault. The officer said the suspect in the assault was in custody and the victim was brought to an area hospital.
Two men were fighting in the parking lot of the gas station, according to Columbia Police Department spokesman Brian McNeill. He then said a woman “got involved” and was stabbed with a knife. She was brought to an area hospital with serious injuries, McNeill said. Police were called to the area at 6:48 p.m.
Six Columbia Police Department officers, a sheriff's deputy, and a K-9 were at the scene. The entire gas station was roped off. Members of the Columbia Fire Department later arrived on the scene and used a ladder to search the roof for evidence. Afterward, investigators were seen looking in nearby bushes and trash cans on the property.
