OSAGE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

One man is in custody after he is accused of domestic assault and running from law enforcement in multiple counties.

According to a press release from the Osage County Sheriff's Office, Andrew Zachery, 32 of St. James was taken into custody after avoiding arrest for one day.

The Sheriff's Office said Zachery is involved in a suspected rolling domestic that started on Tuesday in Cole County. This resulted in a crash on County Road 501 in Osage County and Zachery is accused of running from the scene.

Zachery was found in a wooded area off County Road 503 in Osage County on Wednesday evening, according to the release. He was located after nearby residents in the area spotted smoke from a campfire Zachery started.

The woman involved in the rolling domestic was taken to a local hospital for treatment and reported to be stable as of Thursday morning.

Zachery is being held at the Osage County Detention Center.

In Cole County, Zachery was charged with first-degree kidnapping and second-degree domestic assault. In Osage County, he was charged with third-degree domestic assault, leaving the scene of an accident, first-degree property damage and second-degree kidnapping. Court dates in either case have not been set.

In the probable cause statement from Cole County, the victim was at a Jefferson City hospital when they spoke to law enforcement. The victim was found at the site of a crash and had apparently told law enforcement they were abducted.

At the hospital, the victim allegedly told law enforcement that Zachery was staying at their house for the past month. The victim allegedly stated that Zachery was “acting erratic” before going to transport a motorcycle, the statement says. The victim allegedly said they didn’t want to go because of his behavior, but was then grabbed by their hair and forced into the vehicle.

Zachery then allegedly assaulted them while the vehicle was moving before crashing the vehicle, the statement says. The victim was pulled out of the truck and Zachery ran away when a resident approached him, the statement says
