A Stover man was charged with a pair of child sex crimes on Saturday.

Julian Ray Boyd, 27, was charged with two counts of statutory sodomy of a child younger than 12 years old. He is being held at the Morgan County Jail on a $250,000 bond. An arraignment is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Morgan County Courthouse.

The probable cause statement says that Boyd and children were camping in tents in the front yard of a residence. A victim eventually woke up an adult in the house and described the assault, which was also told to law enforcement, court documents say.

Boyd denied sexually assaulting the child, but allegedly stated that he hugged the child who “snuggled up to him while they were talking,” court documents say.
