QUESTION OF THE DAY: Are you concerned about public shootings in Columbia?

Public gunplay is nothing new in Columbia.

Reports of people shooting at each other in public areas, including commercial districts, are not unheard of. However, they're not common, either.

But two were reported this weekend -- one outside a Paris Road coffee shop and another in the heart of Columbia's downtown early Sunday. In both cases, police believe the shootings began after a fight. A shooting Friday took a man's life at a fast food restaurant.
