Pike County man charged with statutory rape in Audrain County

MGN

MEXICO, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Louisiana, Missouri, man was charged on Tuesday with two counts of second-degree statutory rape after authorities say he engaged in sexual acts with a teenager.

The victim allegedly told law enforcement that they were sexually assaulted by Jacob Baker, 22, while he was traveling through Audrain County on May 26 or May 27, 2023.

Baker allegedly asked the victim to not tell anyone about the sexual acts, according to the probable cause statement. Court documents say Baker broke off communication with the victim.

Court documents state he has open cases in Minnesota and Texas, and has a failure-to-appear warrant in New Ulm County, Minnesota. A warrant for Baker was requested in Audrain County on Tuesday.
