PULASKI COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Pulaski County Jail inmate was charged with murder after another man died from injuries he sustained in a fight on Monday, according to court documents.

Darrin Lee, 38, of St. Robert, was charged with second-degree murder, first-degree assault and second-degree felony murder. He is currently being held at the Pulaski County Jail and a $1 million bond was set. A court date has not been scheduled. He has been in the jail since Aug. 10, 2023, and he was charged in another case with two counts of second-degree domestic assault.

According to the probable cause statement filed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, law enforcement was called to the jail for an assault call around 1:38 p.m. Monday.  Lee allegedly admitted to law enforcement that he assaulted the victim after an argument about a television remote occurred.

Video footage at the jail allegedly showed Lee punch the victim in his head, neck and body, the statement says.

The victim was brought to General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital and was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, the statement says.
