A man who was accused of child sex crimes in Phelps County was arrested on Wednesday, according to a social media post from the Phelps County Sheriff’s Office.

Samuel Levi Hudson, 35, of Linn was indicted by a grant jury on April 24 and he was charged with three counts of statutory sodomy of a child younger than 14 years old. The Phelps County Sheriff’s Office wrote that he is currently living in Linn and used to live in Rolla; while Casenet lists his address as Rolla.

Hudson is being held at the Phelps County Jail on a $250,000 bond. A motion for a bond reduction was filed on Thursday and a bond hearing will take place 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Phelps County Courthouse.

A probable cause statement was not available, but court documents state Hudson is accused of sexually assaulting a child younger than 14 years old between May 15, 2022-Aug. 31, 2023.

“Sheriff Michael Kirn would like to thank the Osage County Sheriff’s Department and the Vienna Police Department for their assistance in locating and arresting Hudson,” the post reads.
